My dearest brother,
It was nice to hear from you and I thought you might beanxious interested to hear how the trip is going.
The entire entourage survived the journey in good health and in good spirits, even Madame Liane whose constitution, as you know, is somewhatweak compromised.
Calera is rather more than I could have anticipated, but I mean that in a good way.
Although I find the structure of things to be strange, the technology a little intimidating, it is with the social side of life here that I am havingthe most trouble to apply my concentration most studiously.
When you told me that the people of Calera were more relaxed and casual about things, I did not, I think, quite realize to what extent you meant that. However, having recovered from the shock of it all, I find myself able to adapt to their ways without of course, losing sight of what is proper and correct.
The royal family themselves are most informal of all, unless needs be.
Marton of Calera is a most charming and helpful man, having gone out of his way to see to our comfort and our ease and the rest of his immediate family are of similar ilk. I wholeheartedly agree with your assessment of his character and his intentions. I too believe them to be completely honorable.
Christian himself has proved all my girlish dreams a reality. He has charmed me completely and never once has he faltered in his genuine concern and caring for my enjoyment of my time here, nor has he been sparing with his company.
Hislover boyfriend, Johnny is similarly sweet and natural and, together and separately, they have gone to great lengths to make my stay a pleasure.
Your devoted sister,
Caeline.
